Hand-crafting Signature Elements For Bay Area Homes Since 1987

Husband and wife team, Linda and Bernard Renaud, combine expertise in both traditional and contemporary European and American construction design. We have access to wonderful, trusted sources from around the world, and our insight and knowledge of materials are an integral part of bringing our customers’ visions to life.

Our working philosophy is that scale and proportion are as important as function. Our goal is to interpret our clients’ dreams, using materials in a way that will enhance their lives, feel agelessly appropriate and add great aesthetic appeal to their property.

a passion for stone

Heading to France from England, in 1981, to work with horses at an Equestrian Center South of Nice, Linda encountered French Artist and Stone Carver, Bernard Renaud.

….”and the rest is History”, as they say.

After firing his helper, Linda participated in fabrication and installations, in his place. She earned some respect, learned the language and a lot about Stone.

In 1985, with a young daughter, Linda and Bernard embarked on their adventure to the U.S.

Bernard retired in 2010. He had trained several carvers to continue in his footsteps and Linda had always been the client interface and long been the one to site measure, produce scale drawings and supervise fabrication.

Bernard passed away in 2021, at 87 years old, having never mastered the English language, but leaving many memories and stories with everyone he encountered.

Stone Creations continues his legacy.

”I learned French in France and German in Germany; contractor Speak on construction sites of California and Artistic Ego Parlance in the Carving ateliers and Artists’ Studios of many Nations. Listening and observing are still a greater part of communication than speaking, in any language.”
