Husband and wife team, Linda and Bernard Renaud, came from France to California in 1985, intending to stay for two years. They fell in love with the energy and possibilities they encountered in the San Francisco Bay Area and established Stone Creations in 1987.
Stone Creations’ core business is sourcing and importing containers of high-grade monolithic limestone from French quarries and crafting it into Custom Fireplaces, Door Surrounds, Kitchen Hoods, Window Moldings and Sills, Keystones, Arches, Columns, Fountains, etc.
At Stone Creations we cut authentic, natural limestone from blocks and slabs and then shape and carve it to order. Our combined use of traditional and modern techniques produces hand-finished, custom stone products.
Limestone is a natural, quarried product, available in a range of colors and textures. Some stones include unique striations and fossil-inclusions. Genuine, natural Limestone is distinctive in bringing a gentle, organic beauty and understated, inherent strength to Fireplace Mantels or other Architectural Elements.
Our inventory includes slabs in a variety of thicknesses allowing us to customize the look to fit your home and harmonize with your Design Story.
Linda, originally from Britain, spent 5 years in France, living and working with Bernard and becoming fluent in French, prior to moving to the US together. Initially translating back and forth for Bernard and clients, Linda moved to the forefront of communication with Customers, Architects and Designers.
Our working philosophy is that scale and proportion are as important as function. We combine expertise in Contemporary, Traditional and Transitional Design and work with Designers, Architects, Contractors, and Home-Owners; Building lasting relationships based on trust and mutual respect.
We strive to serve you well through the consultation, design, and execution process. Scale drawings are produced for client review and approval, prior to fabrication.
Our goal is to interpret our clients’ dreams, using materials that will feel timelessly appropriate and add great value. We understand our clients’ needs through discussions, information gathering and, above all, listening.
